Neil Flynn
Biography
Neil Richard Flynn, born on November 13, 1960, is a talented American actor and comedian celebrated for his memorable performances in both television and film. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of the quirky Janitor on the beloved medical comedy-drama *Scrubs*, which aired from 2001 to 2009. Flynn further solidified his status in the entertainment industry with his role as Mike Heck in the ABC sitcom *The Middle*, which ran from 2009 to 2018.
Flynn’s career took off in the 1980s, where he honed his comedic skills with various improv groups in Chicago. His film career began with a role in the sports comedy *Major League* in 1989. Throughout the 1990s, he appeared in notable films such as *Rookie of the Year* (1993), *The Fugitive* (1993), and *Magnolia* (1999). He starred in the 2006 family comedy *Hoot* and took on supporting roles in hits like *Mean Girls* (2004) and *Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull* (2008).
In addition to his live-action work, Flynn lent his voice to the animated character XR in the series *Buzz Lightyear of Star Command* from 2000 to 2001. More recently, he has taken on a recurring role in the series *Shrinking*, which began airing in 2023. Flynn’s diverse body of work showcases his versatility and enduring appeal in the entertainment industry.
