Biography
Jussi Sydänmaa, born on June 26, 1972, is a talented Finnish guitarist best known for his role as a founding member of the iconic rock band Lordi, where he performed under the alias Amen until his exit in May 2022.
Sydänmaa earned his degree as an Information Technology engineer in 2001, after which he took on the responsibility of managing Lordi's official website, showcasing his technical skills alongside his musical talent. Renowned for his proficiency with Schechter guitars, particularly the Solo II Custom and Hellraiser Solo II models, he has made a significant impact in the rock genre.
In recognition of his contributions to music, the municipality of Mäntsälä honored Sydänmaa with a statue named "Hard Rock Stone" on his birthday in 2006. His musical journey includes notable collaborations, such as guest appearances at concerts for renowned artists like Markus Striegl in 2011 and Doro Pesch in 2014.
Sydänmaa's creative input extends to the world of video games, where he contributed guitar riffs for Ari Pulkkinen’s soundtrack for the game Shadowgrounds. Additionally, his acoustic guitar pieces, "Amen's Lament to Ra" and its sequel, were featured on Lordi's albums Babez for Breakfast and Scare Force One, further solidifying his legacy in the rock music landscape.
