Biography
Juhan Ulfsak, born on April 18, 1973, in Tallinn, Estonia, is a distinguished actor in the Estonian performing arts scene. He completed his actor training in 1995 at Viljandi Culture College, where he later served as a drama instructor. Concurrently, he enhanced his craft at Helsinki Theater College. Since 1998, Ulfsak has been associated with the Von Krahl Theater, collaborating with a diverse range of directors and theater companies both in Estonia and internationally. His talent has been recognized with multiple accolades, including the Best Actor Award at the Estonian Theater Awards in 2012.
In addition to his stage work, Ulfsak has made a name for himself in cinema, featuring in films directed by notable figures such as Veiko Õunpuu, Rainer Sarnet, Pirjo Honkasalo, and Christopher Nolan's "Tenet" (2020). As a director, he has contributed significantly to productions at venues like the Von Krahl Theater, the NO99 Theater, and the Drama Theater, where he has interpreted works by playwrights including Lars von Trier, Sarah Kane, Taavi Eelmaa, and Michel Houellebecq.
Ulfsak comes from a family deeply rooted in the arts; his father is the actor and director Lembit Ulfsak, and he has a half-sister, Maria Ulfsak, who works as a film journalist.
