Derek de Lint
Biography
Derek de Lint, born Dick Hein de Lint on July 17, 1950, is a renowned Dutch actor celebrated for his work in film and television. Hailing from The Hague, he has made a significant mark in the entertainment industry since the late 1970s.
His breakthrough role came in 1977 when he portrayed Alex in the acclaimed film *Soldier of Orange*, directed by the esteemed Paul Verhoeven. De Lint continued to garner recognition with his performance as Anton Steenwijk in the 1986 film *The Assault*, which went on to win the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film that same year. His collaboration with Verhoeven continued in 2006 when he played Gerben Kuipers in the gripping thriller *Black Book*.
In addition to his film work, Derek de Lint became a familiar face on television, featuring prominently in the sci-fi series *Poltergeist: The Legacy*, which aired from 1996 to 1999. His diverse roles and compelling performances have solidified his reputation as a versatile actor, making him a respected figure in both Dutch and international cinema.
