Catherine Fabienne Dorléac, born on October 22, 1943, is a renowned French actress, as well as a singer, model, and producer, celebrated as one of Europe’s finest actresses. Deneuve rose to fame through her captivating performances as enigmatic and sophisticated women in films directed by notable filmmakers such as Jacques Demy, Luis Buñuel, François Truffaut, and Roman Polanski. In 1985, she took on the prestigious role of Marianne, the embodiment of liberty in France, succeeding Mireille Mathieu. A distinguished figure in cinema, she has received 14 nominations for the César Award, triumphing for her roles in Truffaut’s The Last Metro (1980), which also earned her the David di Donatello for Best Foreign Actress, and Régis Wargnier’s Indochine (1992).
