Joan Gardner
Biography
Joan Gardner (1914–1999) was a notable British actress whose career spanned several decades. Born in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, she embarked on her theatrical journey straight after finishing her education. By the age of 18, she had already made a name for herself on stage.
Her talent caught the attention of Alexander Korda, who would later become her brother-in-law. He recognized her potential and signed her to a five-year film contract with London Film Productions. Gardner made her film debut in "Wedding Rehearsal," portraying one of the Roxbury twins, which marked the beginning of her film career.
Throughout her life, Gardner's personal and professional paths intertwined with prominent figures in the film industry. She married the esteemed director Zoltán Korda, and together they welcomed a son, David, further solidifying her ties to the cinematic world.
