Biography
Ranganathan Madhavan, born on June 1, 1970, is a versatile Indian actor, writer, and producer who has successfully crossed regional boundaries to achieve widespread appeal across India. His filmography spans seven languages, making him one of the few Indian actors to enjoy such a broad reach. Over his illustrious career, Madhavan has earned two Filmfare Awards and accolades from the Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, in addition to various nominations from esteemed organizations.
Madhavan's journey in the entertainment industry began with television, notably featuring in the popular Zee TV drama, Banegi Apni Baat, in 1996. His breakthrough in cinema came with Mani Ratnam's acclaimed romantic film, Alaipayuthey, released in 2000, which solidified his status in the Tamil film industry.
Beyond acting, Madhavan has showcased his writing skills and hosted numerous television shows. He has also made a mark as a film producer, launching his first project, Evano Oruvan, under Leukos Films, and later founding Tricolour Films, which produced the critically praised Saala Khadoos in 2016.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Madhavan is a committed philanthropist, advocating for various causes related to the environment, health, and education.
