Tracy Letts
Biography
Tracy Letts, born on July 4, 1965, is a renowned American playwright, screenwriter, and actor. He garnered critical acclaim in 2008 when he won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his powerful play, August: Osage County. Letts also earned a Tony Award for his captivating performance as George in the revival of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? His acting career includes a notable role as Andrew Lockhart in the acclaimed Showtime series Homeland, where he received two Screen Actors Guild Award nominations as part of the ensemble cast. Currently, he stars as Nick in the HBO comedy series Divorce.
In addition to his acting, Letts is an accomplished screenwriter, having adapted three of his own plays into films: Bug, Killer Joe—both directed by William Friedkin—and August: Osage County, helmed by John Wells. His work continues to resonate, with his 2009 play Superior Donuts being transformed into a television adaptation that is currently in its second season on CBS.
