Biography

Arthur Hindle, born on July 21, 1948, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is a prominent Canadian actor and director. His family relocated to Toronto during his childhood, where he transitioned from a shy youth to a spirited and independent teenager. This adventurous phase of his life involved hitchhiking across Canada, taking on various odd jobs, and connecting with a diverse range of people.

By the age of 21, Hindle had already become a father, worked as a stockbroker, and dabbled in photography. Although he found some success in the financial sector, he felt unfulfilled until a transformative experience at a Toronto Workshop Productions play inspired him to pursue a career in theatre. He joined TWP, secured an acting agent, and began auditioning for commercials.

A pivotal moment in Hindle's journey was discovering the Eli Rill workshop, where he studied Method acting. This environment allowed him to flourish, and he soon began landing roles, including a notable collaboration with his uncle, Michael Kane, in the film "The Gunfighters." Hindle's film career took off with his first significant role in "The Proud Rider," a biker movie, before he starred as Billy Duke in "Face-Off," Canada’s first million-dollar film.

Known as a "working actor," Hindle has made guest appearances in numerous television series and films since 1971. His performance in the acclaimed Canadian series E.N.G. earned him a Gemini Award. In addition to acting, he has also taken on directing roles since the early 1990s. Balancing his time between California and Canada, Hindle currently stars in and directs the popular series "Paradise Falls," which airs on various cable channels.
