Biography
Ely Galleani, born Federica Elisabetta De Galleani in Alassio, Italy, hails from a distinguished background as the daughter of an Italian count and a Polish mother of Lithuanian descent. She embarked on her cinematic journey in 1970 with a minor part in Duccio Tessari's film "Quella piccola differenza." Galleani's talent soon garnered her more substantial roles in various films throughout the 1970s, establishing her as a recognizable figure in Italian cinema.
After a successful acting career, she chose to retire from the film industry in 1978, redirecting her focus towards a new profession as an accountant. In her personal life, Galleani faced tragedy with the loss of her half-sister, actress Halina Zalewska, who tragically perished in a fire in 1976 at the age of 36. Additionally, Ely was previously married to renowned Italian director Carlo Vanzina, which further connects her to the cinematic world.
Though her acting career was relatively brief, Galleani left a mark on the Italian film landscape during her active years. Today, she is remembered not only for her contributions to film but also for her resilience and adaptability in transitioning to a different life beyond the spotlight.
