Biography
Patrick Joseph McGoohan (March 19, 1928 – January 13, 2009) was a versatile actor whose talents spanned stage and screen, born in America but raised in both Ireland and England. He gained fame in the 1960s for his roles in iconic television series, particularly "Danger Man," which was known as "Secret Agent" in the United States. His most renowned work came with the groundbreaking series "The Prisoner," which he not only starred in but also wrote and directed several episodes, often under the aliases Joseph Serf and Paddy Fitz.
McGoohan's career was marked by his ability to blend dramatic depth with a unique narrative style. After "The Prisoner," he made memorable guest appearances in the beloved detective series "Columbo," earning two Emmy Awards for his performances. His film work includes notable roles in David Cronenberg's psychological thriller "Scanners" and in Mel Gibson's epic historical drama "Braveheart," where he portrayed King Edward I.
