Biography

Assumpta Serna is a renowned Spanish actress celebrated for her diverse roles across film and television. Her portrayal of the esteemed Mexican scholar Sor Juana in "I, the Worst of All" is among her most acclaimed performances. Additionally, she has gained recognition for her roles in "Nostradamus," "The Craft," and "Wild Orchid." However, many fans remember her vividly as Teresa Moreno, the courageous guerrilla commander featured in the first four installments of the ITV series "Sharpe," where she starred alongside her husband, Scott Cleverdon, whom she met during filming.

Born Assumpta Rodés Serna in Barcelona, Catalonia, Serna has had a dynamic career that includes a notable appearance as Catherine of Aragon in the 2003 ITV drama centered on King Henry VIII, as well as a role in the popular Spanish series "Aquí no hay quien viva." Beyond her acting, she is a published author, having written two insightful books on acting techniques: "Screenacting" and "Monologues in VO." Currently, she imparts her knowledge through courses on Acting for Camera, Directing Actors, and The Script and the Actor at various institutions.
