Michael Charles Chiklis, born on August 30, 1963, is an accomplished American actor renowned for his compelling performances on both television and film. He gained widespread acclaim for his portrayal of LAPD Detective Vic Mackey in the critically acclaimed FX series, The Shield, which aired from 2002 to 2008. His outstanding work in the role earned him a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 2002, with a subsequent nomination in 2003.
