John Ward
Biography
John Ward entered the world of entertainment at just 12 years old, inspired by his younger sister, Jennifer, who worked as a photo double and stand-in for Drew Barrymore in the 1984 film *Firestarter*, filmed in his hometown of Wilmington, North Carolina. This early exposure ignited his passion for acting, leading to a series of minor roles throughout his youth.
Ward made his mark as a filmmaker with his directorial debut in 1998 with *Enchanted*, a project he not only directed but also wrote and starred in. The film quickly gained a cult following, continuing to be a staple on cable television. Over the years, he expanded his repertoire, writing and directing a total of 11 feature films. In 2013, he adapted his own 2012 novel into the film *Heart of the Country*, where he took on the roles of writer, producer, and director once again.
In addition to his cinematic pursuits, Ward served as the President of Bay Ridge Films, Inc. His contributions to the industry left a lasting impact. Sadly, John Ward passed away on February 16, 2024, in Newport Beach, California, due to complications from a rare plasma cell disorder. His legacy in film and storytelling continues to resonate with audiences.
