Growing up as an "army brat," her father, Jimmy Carter, served in the U.S. Army, leading the family to relocate frequently across the country. She completed her high school education in Albany, Dougherty County, Georgia, and later received a full athletic scholarship to Augusta State University, where she excelled in swimming and cross-country running.

Carter's modeling career took off with agencies like Elite Model Management and Wilhelmina Models. She has appeared in several films, most memorably in the opening sequence of "American Pie 2." Her television credits encompass a variety of roles in shows such as "High Fidelity," "Inconceivable," and "Cold Storage."
