David Gant
Biography
David Gant, born in 1943, is a notable Scottish actor and model whose career took a significant turn at the age of 30. After working as a banker, he pursued his passion for the performing arts by enrolling at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, from which he graduated in 1974. Since then, Gant has enjoyed a diverse career across theatre, film, and television.
His theatrical performances include a notable role in *Coriolanus* at the Chichester Festival Theatre. On the big screen, he has appeared in a variety of films, such as *Victor/Victoria* (1982), *The Draughtsman's Contract* (1982), *The Scarlet Pimpernel* (1982), *Gandhi* (1982), *Brazil* (1985), *Chaplin* (1992), *Restoration* (1995), *Braveheart* (1995), and *The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc* (1999). He also lent his voice to characters in video games, including Oswald of Carim in *Dark Souls* (2011) and Lord Aldia in *Dark Souls II*. Gant portrayed Emperor Iedolas Aldercapt in *Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV*.
In addition to his extensive work in film and gaming, Gant is an Associate and Licentiate of the London College of Music. He showcased his talent in the Theatre Royal Norwich's production of *Jack and the Beanstalk* during the Christmas season in 2016.
