Biography
Jill Hennessy’s remarkable blend of confidence and artistry propelled her to fame as she portrayed Assistant District Attorney Claire Kincaid in the critically acclaimed crime drama "Law & Order" for three seasons. Growing up in a transient environment, Hennessy embraced her creative spirit, taking on diverse roles in films like "The Paper" and "I Shot Andy Warhol." After her tenure on "Law & Order," she explored smaller film roles in projects such as "A Smile Like Yours" and "Most Wanted."
Hennessy made a triumphant return to television with the miniseries "Nuremberg" before headlining her own series, "Crossing Jordan," where she played a passionate medical examiner dedicated to seeking justice for the deceased. Following the show's conclusion, she ventured into film again with appearances in "Wild Hogs" and "Lymelife." Currently, Hennessy stars in Showtime's "City on a Hill" and has also graced series like "Shots Fired," "Crawford," and the pilot of "Yellowstone."
In addition to her acting career, Jill is a talented singer/songwriter. She wrote and performed all the tracks for her debut album, "Ghost In My Head," and toured with renowned artists like Sarah McLachlan and The Indigo Girls. She contributed to The Indigo Girls' live album "Staring Down The Brilliant Dream" and penned the songs for her second album, "I Do," while actively working on her third.
