Bryan Leung Kar-yan (Chinese: 梁家仁), born on January 20, 1949, is a distinguished Hong Kong actor and film director renowned for his contributions to martial arts cinema. He began his career with Shaw Brothers Studios in 1974, where he quickly formed a strong friendship with fellow martial artist Sammo Hung. Hung has often praised Leung’s extraordinary talent, noting his ability to master various kung fu styles and complex choreographies with remarkable speed. Throughout the late 1970s and early 1980s, Leung showcased his skills in a series of celebrated kung fu films.

However, as the allure of martial arts movies waned in the mid-1980s, Leung shifted his focus toward character roles, successfully adapting to the changing film landscape.
