James Brolin
Biography
James Brolin, born Craig Kenneth Bruderlin on July 18, 1940, is a renowned American actor, producer, and director celebrated for his extensive contributions to film and television. Over his illustrious career, he has earned two Golden Globe Awards and an Emmy, marking his talents and versatility in the entertainment industry. On August 27, 1998, he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a testament to his impact on the arts.
Brolin gained prominence through memorable television roles, including Steven Kiley in *Marcus Welby, M.D.* (1969–1976), Peter McDermott in *Hotel* (1983–1988), and John Short in *Life in Pieces* (2015–2019). He also lent his voice as the Narrator in *Sweet Tooth*. In film, his notable performances include Sgt. Jerome K. Weber in *Skyjacked* (1972), John Blane in *Westworld* (1973), and General Ralph Landry in *Traffic* (2000). More recently, he voiced Emperor Zurg in the 2022 *Toy Story* spin-off *Lightyear*.
Brolin's personal life saw him marry Jane Cameron Agee in 1966, with whom he had two children, including actor Josh Brolin. After their divorce in 1984, he wed actress Jan Smithers in 1986, welcoming a daughter, Molly Elizabeth, before their separation in 1995. In 1998, he found love with singer and actress Barbra Streisand, marrying her on July 1, and becoming a stepfather to her son, Jason Gould.
