Irene Joan Marion Sims was a celebrated English actress, best known for her memorable performances in the iconic Carry On film series, which features titles such as Carry On Nurse, Carry On Cleo, and Carry On Camping. Born on May 9, 1930, in Laindon, Essex, Sims carved a niche for herself in British comedy with her distinctive charm and comedic timing.
In addition to her work in the Carry On films, she portrayed the character Mrs. Wembley, a cook with a penchant for sherry, in the television series On the Up.
