David Byrne (born May 14, 1952) is a celebrated Scottish-American musician, writer, visual artist, and filmmaker. Best known as a founding member and the principal songwriter of the iconic American new wave band Talking Heads, he played a crucial role as lead singer and guitarist.
Beyond his work with Talking Heads, Byrne has explored a wide range of creative avenues, including solo musical projects, film, photography, and both fiction and non-fiction writing.
