Biography
Jodie Marie Comer, born on March 11, 1993, is a distinguished English actress celebrated for her work across both stage and screen. She launched her acting career with a role in the TV series The Royal Today in 2008. Her breakthrough came with notable performances in the acclaimed series My Mad Fat Diary (2013-2015) and Doctor Foster (2015-2017), as well as in the miniseries Thirteen (2016). However, it was her portrayal of the complex assassin Villanelle in the BBC America thriller Killing Eve from 2018 to 2022 that solidified her status in the industry, earning her both a BAFTA Television Award and a Primetime Emmy Award.
In 2021, Comer showcased her versatility by venturing into film, starring in the action-comedy Free Guy alongside Ryan Reynolds and the historical drama The Last Duel, where she starred opposite Matt Damon and Adam Driver. She further demonstrated her talent on stage with her West End debut in Suzie Miller's one-woman play Prima Facie in 2022, which garnered her both an Evening Standard Theatre Award and a Laurence Olivier Award. The play later transferred to Broadway in 2023, where she received a Tony Award for her outstanding performance.
