Biography

Christopher Nicholas Parsons (10 October 1923 – 28 January 2020) was a prominent English actor, comedian, and television and radio presenter. He is best remembered for his long-standing role as the host of the beloved comedy radio program Just a Minute, which he began presenting in 1967 and continued until 2018 without missing a single episode. Additionally, he was the face of the popular game show Sale of the Century during the 1970s and early 1980s.

Born and raised in Grantham, Lincolnshire, Parsons received his education at St Paul's School in London. After serving in the Second World War, he pursued a career in acting, taking on a variety of roles in theatre, film, and television, including work alongside comedian Arthur Haynes. In addition to his signature hosting gigs, Parsons showcased his versatility by appearing as a guest on a range of television programs, such as Doctor Who and Have I Got News for You.

Throughout his career, Nicholas Parsons became a beloved figure in British entertainment, known for his wit, charm, and ability to engage audiences across multiple platforms.
