Biography
Roma Maffia, born on May 31, 1958, is a talented American actress recognized for her diverse roles in film and television. Her journey in the performing arts began with Off-Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway productions, where she honed her craft before making her film debut in 1994 as Carmen in Ron Howard's drama, The Paper.
Maffia quickly transitioned to television, gaining prominence with her role as a dedicated forensic pathologist, Grace Alvarez, in the NBC series Profiler, which ran for four seasons. Her impressive television resume includes memorable guest appearances on acclaimed series such as ER, The West Wing, Law & Order, and The Sopranos.
One of her most significant performances came in the film Disclosure (1994), where she portrayed Seattle attorney Catherine Alvarez alongside stars Michael Douglas and Demi Moore. Maffia further solidified her status in the industry with her portrayal of Vanessa Galiano on Law & Order and Judge Victoria Peyton on ABC's Boston Legal.
From 2003 onward, she captivated audiences as Liz Cruz, the anesthesiologist on the FX series Nip/Tuck, a role that showcased her ability to navigate complex characters.
