Paul Müller
Biography
Paul Konrad Müller, born on March 11, 1923, is a retired Swiss actor renowned primarily for his extensive work in Italian cinema. His acting career spanned an impressive 51 years, during which he appeared in over 230 films.
Müller's journey in the performing arts began with his studies at the prestigious Conservatoire National Supérieur d'Art Dramatique in Paris between 1941 and 1942. He gained valuable experience performing at various Parisian theatres, including the Théâtre Pigalle and the Théâtre des Ambassadeurs, until 1944. His life took a dramatic turn when he was drafted into the French Army, serving in Indochina during the early stages of the First Indochina War. Unfortunately, he contracted malaria, which left him partially deaf.
After his military service, Müller returned to the stage, performing in both France and the French-occupied zones of Germany, as well as in Florence, working with notable directors like Georges Douking. He made his film debut at age 25 in "Ruy Blas" (1948).
Throughout his illustrious career, Müller collaborated with many legendary figures in European cinema, such as Roberto Rossellini, Federico Fellini, and Michelangelo Antonioni. He frequently worked with Jesús "Jess" Franco, co-starring in 18 films. Müller spent the majority of his life in Italy, solidifying his legacy as a versatile and enduring talent in the film industry.
