Jannik Schümann
Biography
Jannik Schümann is a talented German actor, musical performer, and voice artist, known for his versatile roles across television and film. He pursued his education in English Studies and Media Studies at Humboldt University of Berlin, where he notably focused his bachelor thesis on the theme of queer-coding in Disney films.
Currently residing in Berlin with his partner Felix Kruck, the couple joyfully announced their engagement in March 2024.
Schümann launched his television career in 2003 with the series The Rescue Pilots. He later appeared in A Life So Far Away (2007) and Tatort: Love Hunger (2007). His breakthrough came in 2011 when he portrayed Henry in the TV film Homevideo, and he made his film debut in Barbara (2012), playing the character Mario. Additionally, he took on the role of the principal's son in Middle Maturity that same year.
In 2015, he captivated audiences as Finn Wilke in My Son Helen, followed by a standout performance as Nicholas in the film adaptation of Andreas Steinhöfel’s acclaimed novel Center of My World (2016). Since then, he has been portraying Nikolaus Tanz in the series The Diplomat, starting in 2016.
Schümann's diverse filmography also includes appearances in Monster Hunter (2020), Tribes of Europa (2021), and Charité at War (2019), showcasing his range and dedication to his craft.
