Stephen Root
Biography
Stephen Root (born November 17, 1951) is a prominent American actor known for his versatile performances across television and film. He gained fame for his role as Jimmy James on the NBC sitcom NewsRadio, which aired from 1995 to 1999, and for portraying Milton Waddams in the cult classic Office Space (1999). Root is also recognized for his voice work as Bill Dauterive and Buck Strickland on the animated series King of the Hill, which ran from 1997 to 2010 and is set to return in 2025.
His film career includes collaborations with the Coen brothers in movies like O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000) and No Country for Old Men (2007), as well as notable performances in Dave (1993), Dodgeball (2004), and Get Out (2017). On television, Root has taken on various significant roles, including Capt. K'Vada in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Monroe Fuches in HBO's Barry, earning an Emmy nomination in 2019.
