Jiang Wen, born on January 5, 1963, is a prominent Chinese actor, screenwriter, and director celebrated for his significant contributions to cinema. He emerged as part of the "Sixth Generation" of filmmakers in the 1990s, a label that reflects a wave of innovative storytellers shaping modern Chinese film. Jiang gained international recognition for his role alongside Gong Li in Zhang Yimou's acclaimed debut film, *Red Sorghum* (1986). His versatility as an actor led him to a notable role as Baze Malbus in the blockbuster *Rogue One: A Star Wars Story* (2016). Beyond his film career, Jiang is also known as the elder brother of fellow actor Jiang Wu, further showcasing the family's artistic legacy.
