Deborah Findlay

Biography

Deborah Findlay is a distinguished English actress known for her compelling performances across television and theater. She gained recognition for her portrayal of Greer Thornton in the acclaimed miniseries *State of Play*, appearing in four of its six episodes. Additionally, she showcased her talent in the *Foyle's War* episode "The French Drop" in 2004 and participated in four episodes of *The Armstrong and Miller Show* in 2001.

In autumn 2007, Findlay captivated audiences as Miss Augusta Tompkinson in the BBC1 period drama *Cranford*, sharing the screen with celebrated actresses Judi Dench, Imelda Staunton, and Francesca Annis. She also featured in *Wilfred Owen: A Remembrance Tale* and took on the role of Home Secretary Denise Riley in *Torchwood*’s third series, *Children of Earth*, in 2009. Her performance as lawyer Gemma King in *Silent Witness* in January 2010 further solidified her versatility.

Findlay made her mark on the stage as well, starring in the US premiere of Philip Ridley's *Vincent River* in 2008 and reuniting with Judi Dench for the 2009 Donmar West End revival of *Madame de Sade*.
