Dennis Christopher, originally named Dennis Carrelli, was born on December 2, 1955, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is a distinguished American actor renowned for his memorable performances in both film and television. His career took off with his acclaimed portrayal of Dave Stohler in the 1979 coming-of-age film *Breaking Away*, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination and solidified his status in Hollywood.
Christopher's versatility is evident in his diverse roles, including the American athlete Charlie Paddock in *Chariots of Fire* and the unsettling film aficionado Eric Binford in *Fade to Black*. With a filmography that boasts nearly 40 films and television movies since his debut in 1975, he has made significant contributions to the industry.
