Wheaton Chambers, originally named James Wheaton Smith after his maternal grandfather, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and later spent his formative years in Freehold, New Jersey. In the late 1920s, he ventured to Hollywood, where he adopted the stage name Wheaton Chambers. Over the course of approximately thirty years, Chambers established himself as a prolific actor, featuring in more than 200 film and television projects.
