Hiroki Matsukata
Biography
Hiroki Matsukata, born Kōju Meguro on July 23, 1942, in Japan, was a prominent figure in the Japanese film and television industry. He was the son of renowned jidaigeki actor Jūshirō Konoe and actress Yaeko Mizukawa, which set the stage for his illustrious career in acting. Matsukata’s younger brother, Yūki Meguro, also pursued a career in the entertainment field, showcasing the family's artistic lineage.
Matsukata gained widespread recognition for his versatile performances, particularly in the jidaigeki genre, where he demonstrated his exceptional talent in historical dramas. Throughout his career, he appeared in numerous films and television series, earning acclaim for his compelling portrayals. Some of his notable works include his roles in classic samurai films and popular television dramas that captivated audiences across Japan.
In his personal life, Matsukata was married to actress Akiko Nishina, with whom he had two children, Masaki and Hitomi Nishina, both of whom followed in their parents' footsteps and entered the entertainment industry.
