Biography

Adeel Akhtar is a versatile actor whose performances span both comedy and drama, earning him widespread recognition in the entertainment industry. He gained significant attention for his portrayal of the inept Muslim extremist Faisal in the satirical film "Four Lions," directed by Chris Morris. His comedic talents were further showcased in roles such as Gupta in "The Angelos Epithemiou Show," Maroush in "The Dictator," and Smee in Joe Wright's "Pan."

In addition to his comedic work, Akhtar has been celebrated for his dramatic roles. He received a BAFTA nomination for Best Supporting Actor in 2015 for his compelling performance as Wilson Wilson in the critically acclaimed Channel 4 series "Utopia." His dramatic range was also evident in the BBC mini-series "Capital," where he played the shopkeeper Ahmed, and in "River," where he portrayed DS Ira King.
