Anna Katriina Outinen, born on August 17, 1961, in Helsinki, is a renowned Finnish actress celebrated for her prominent roles in the films of director Aki Kaurismäki. She honed her craft under the guidance of Jouko Turkka during his influential period in Finnish drama education, though she does not subscribe to the "turkkalaisuus" acting style. Outinen first gained significant attention with her portrayal of a resilient young woman in the cult classic youth film, Täältä tullaan elämä, directed by Tapio Suominen, released in 1984.
Her extensive body of work in theater and television has established her as a celebrated figure in Finland, while Kaurismäki's films have garnered her international acclaim, particularly in Germany and France.
