John Rhys-Davies, born on May 5, 1944, is a distinguished Welsh actor and voice artist, celebrated for his diverse roles across film and television. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of the charming archaeologist Sallah in the iconic Indiana Jones series. Rhys-Davies further cemented his legacy by bringing the dwarf Gimli to life in Peter Jackson's acclaimed The Lord of the Rings trilogy, where he also lent his voice to the character Treebeard.
