Alan Hewitt
Biography
Alan Hewitt was an accomplished actor whose extensive career spanned several decades, primarily during the golden age of television and film. He is best remembered for his appearances in notable films such as *A Private's Affair*, *That Touch of Mink*, *Days of Wine and Roses*, *How to Murder Your Wife*, *Sweet Charity*, and *The Barefoot Executive*.
While he may not have reached the heights of a major star, Hewitt's presence was felt across numerous iconic television series. His talent allowed him to secure smaller roles in beloved programs such as *Alfred Hitchcock Presents*, *Maverick*, *77 Sunset Strip*, *Daktari*, *Leave It to Beaver*, *The Donna Reed Show*, *Dr. Kildare*, *Lost in Space*, *Bewitched*, *I Dream of Jeannie*, *The Lucy Show*, *F Troop*, *The Wild Wild West*, *Ironside*, *The Bob Newhart Show*, and *The Phil Silvers Show*.
Hewitt was a familiar face on *Perry Mason*, where he made four guest appearances, often portraying the murderer. His performances included Bruce Sheridan in “The Case of the Wintry Wife” (1961), Dr. Marcus Tate in “The Case of the Brazen Bequest” (1961), and Curt Ordway in “The Case of the Fatal Fetish” (1965), with his lone non-murderer role in 1959’s “The Case of the Golden Fraud.” Among his most notable roles were Detective Brennan in *My Favorite Martian* and the district attorney in *How to Murder Your Wife*.
