Lynn Redgrave
Biography
Lynn Rachel Redgrave, OBE (8 March 1943 – 2 May 2010), was a prominent English actress hailing from a distinguished family of performers. After training in London, she stepped onto the stage for the first time in 1962. By the mid-1960s, Redgrave had made her mark in cinema with notable roles in films like Tom Jones (1963) and Georgy Girl (1966), the latter earning her a New York Film Critics Award along with nominations for both the Academy Award and Golden Globe. In 1967, she debuted on Broadway and enjoyed a successful career in various stage productions in New York, while also returning to London's West End. She collaborated with her sister Vanessa in the play Three Sisters and took on the lead role in a 1991 television adaptation of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? Later in her career, she returned to film with appearances in Shine (1996) and Gods and Monsters (1998), receiving another Academy Award nomination for her work.
