Biography

Paula Raymond, born on November 23, 1924, and passing away on December 31, 2003, was a notable American actress and model. She began her career in the glamorous world of Hollywood, signing a contract with MGM in 1950, where she starred alongside prominent actors like Cary Grant and Dick Powell. Initially, Raymond made her mark in film noir, featuring in thrillers such as "City That Never Sleeps," which starred Gig Young and Marie Windsor. Over time, she became recognized for her roles in horror films, including the iconic "The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms" in 1952.

Throughout the late 1950s and 1960s, Raymond appeared in various television series and budget horror flicks, with credits including "Perry Mason," "Hawaiian Eye," and "77 Sunset Strip." Notably, she declined the part of Kitty in the classic western series "Gunsmoke," a role that ultimately went to Amanda Blake.

In 1962, Raymond faced a serious car accident that resulted in significant facial injuries, requiring extensive reconstructive surgery before she could resume her acting career. Despite further health challenges, including a broken ankle in 1977 while filming "Days of Our Lives," she remained determined. Raymond was married once, to Floyd Leroy Patterson in 1944, but their union ended in divorce shortly after their daughter, Raeme Dorene Patterson, was born. Tragically, Raeme passed away in 1993. Paula Raymond's life came to an end at 79 due to respiratory complications.
