Biography

Renzo Palmer (December 20, 1930 – June 4, 1988) was a distinguished Italian actor known for his extensive work in film, television, and theater, with a prolific career spanning over three decades and more than 60 films to his credit.

Born Lorenzo Bigatti in Milan, he was adopted by the renowned stage actress Kiki Palmer, from whom he derived his stage name. Initially pursuing a law degree, Palmer shifted his focus to the performing arts, making his radio debut in 1955 after being discovered at a singer audition. He spent two years with the Prose Company of "Radio Roma" before transitioning to television.

In 1957, Palmer marked his television debut in "L'avaro," directed by Vittorio Cottafavi, and that same year, he made his theatrical entry at Milan's Piccolo Teatro with the revue "I pallinisti." His talent shone brightly in various prestigious stage productions, but it was television that truly catapulted him to fame, featuring in numerous acclaimed TV films and series.

Palmer was celebrated as a versatile character actor, particularly in the genres of commedia all'italiana and poliziotteschi. His career also encompassed roles as a radio and television host, along with a successful career in voice acting. Renzo Palmer passed away from cancer in Milan at the age of 58, leaving behind a rich legacy in the Italian entertainment industry.
