Cornelius Crane "Chevy" Chase, born on October 8, 1943, is a renowned American comedian, writer, and actor known for his significant contributions to television and film. Hailing from a notable entertainment family, Chase initially dabbled in a variety of jobs before finding his niche in comedy with National Lampoon. His career took off as one of the original cast members of Saturday Night Live, where his "Weekend Update" segment became a defining feature of the show. Throughout his career, Chase garnered three Primetime Emmy Awards from five nominations, showcasing his talents as both a performer and writer.

Chase is perhaps best recognized for his iconic role as Clark Griswold in the National Lampoon's Vacation film series, which includes four films that have become classics.
