George Segal (February 13, 1934 – March 23, 2021) was a distinguished American actor and musician whose career spanned several decades, leaving a lasting impact on both film and television. Rising to fame in the 1960s and 1970s, Segal showcased his exceptional range by taking on both serious and comedic roles. His notable filmography includes acclaimed performances in *Ship of Fools* (1965), *King Rat* (1965), *Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?* (1966), and *The St. Valentine's Day Massacre* (1967). He also starred in *Where's Poppa?* (1970), *The Hot Rock* (1972), *Blume in Love* (1973), *A Touch of Class* (1973), *California Split* (1974), *For the Boys* (1991), and *Flirting with Disaster* (1996). His portrayal in *Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?* earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor, while his role in *A Touch of Class* garnered him two Golden Globe Awards, including Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.
On the small screen, Segal gained widespread recognition for his part as Jack Gallo on the sitcom *Just Shoot Me!* (1997–2003) and as Albert "Pops" Solomon on *The Goldbergs* (2013–2021).
