Ted Ferguson, who hails from the challenging environment of Mooretown in Shreveport, Louisiana, has built an impressive career spanning over 40 years in broadcasting before transitioning to a successful journey as a Film, TV, and Commercial Actor. Raised in an African American community characterized by modest living conditions, Ted's passion for media found an early expression in radio.

In 1975, under the on-air name China Jones, he quickly rose to prominence, achieving the distinction of being the top night DJ in Detroit radio within just six months. His energetic personality and engaging style captivated listeners during the prime time slot from 6 PM to 10 PM. After six fruitful years in Detroit, Ted made the bold decision to move to Hollywood, where he took on the role of Program Director at Century Broadcasting's KWST, which later rebranded as the influential Power 106. This station became a powerhouse in urban music, solidifying Ted's reputation in the industry.
