Biography
Pepe Serna is a distinguished Mexican-American actor whose impressive career spans over five decades, featuring appearances in more than 100 films and 300 television shows. He is particularly celebrated for his compelling supporting roles in iconic films like Scarface (1983), where he played Al Pacino's ill-fated partner in the drug trade, and Silverado (1985), alongside Kevin Costner. His notable credits also include the crime drama The Rookie (1990) with Clint Eastwood and Charlie Sheen, and American Me (1992), starring Edward James Olmos. Throughout his career, Pepe has adeptly portrayed a range of characters that navigate the complexities of law and crime, from drug dealers to law enforcement officials.
Born on July 23, 1944, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Pepe was raised in a family with diverse cultural influences—his father served as a naval interpreter while his mother was a hairdresser. His passion for acting ignited at an early age, leading him to Hollywood in 1969 to chase his dreams. He made his film debut in the exploitation flick The Student Nurses (1970) and quickly transitioned to more prominent roles, thanks to producer Hal B.
