Biography

Jack Scalia, originally named Giacomo Tomaso Tedesco, was born on June 10, 1950, and has made a significant mark in the American entertainment industry as an actor and producer. Scalia's heritage is a blend of Italian and Irish roots, and he is the son of former Brooklyn Dodger Rocky Tedesco. Following his parents' divorce and his mother’s remarriage, he adopted the surname Scalia.

Before embarking on his acting career, Scalia briefly pursued professional baseball, being drafted as a pitcher by the Montreal Expos in 1971, though injuries prevented him from reaching the Major Leagues. He initially gained fame as a model, showcasing his physique in popular campaigns for brands like Eminence briefs and Jordache jeans.

Scalia's television career took off in the 1980s, with notable roles including Nicholas Pearce on the iconic series Dallas, where his character met a dramatic end in the 1987-88 season. He also appeared in the series Remington Steele and starred in the CBS crime drama Wolf from 1989 to 1990. In 1992, he played Detective Nico "Nick" Bonetti in Tequila and Bonetti, a role he revisited in a 2000 Italian revival.

His portrayal of Chris Stamp on All My Children from 2001 to 2003 earned him a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in 2002. Additionally, he appeared in the 2005 thriller Red Eye alongside Rachel McAdams and Cillian Murphy, and in 2006, he took on the role of President Halstrom in The Genius Club, directed by Tim Chey.
