Marie Avgeropoulos
Biography
Marie Avgeropoulos, born on June 17, 1986, is a talented Canadian actress and model of Greek heritage. She gained prominence with her role as Valli Wooley in the 2009 film "I Love You, Beth Cooper," directed by Chris Columbus, which marked her entry into feature films. Following this breakthrough, Avgeropoulos showcased her versatility in various roles, including Kim Rhodes in the action film "Hunt to Kill" and as Kirstie in the short-lived series "Cult."
Hailing from Thunder Bay, Ontario, Avgeropoulos initially pursued a degree in broadcast journalism before embarking on an adventure to Europe. After a brief return to Canada, she settled in Vancouver, where she discovered her passion for acting through an unexpected casting call that sought drummers—her hobby since she was 16. This opportunity led to her being spotted by a talent agent, which opened doors to appearances in several national commercials, ultimately leading to her role in "I Love You, Beth Cooper."
In 2013, Avgeropoulos transitioned to television with a recurring character in "Cult," but the series was canceled after its first season. However, her career took a significant turn when she was cast as Octavia Blake in the acclaimed sci-fi series "The 100," solidifying her status as a prominent actress in the genre and earning her a dedicated fanbase.
