Norman Fell
Biography
Norman Fell was born in 1924 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He earned a bachelor's degree in drama from Temple University. During World War II, he served as a tail gunner in the Air Force in the Pacific Theater. Following the war, Fell pursued a career in acting, landing various minor roles in both television and theater. His first notable television role came in the comedy series "Joe & Mabel," which aired in 1956. However, he gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Stanley Roper, the landlord character in the immensely popular sitcom "Three's Company," which premiered in 1977. He also reprised this role in the show's short-lived spin-off, "The Ropers," in 1979.
Fell's career spanned several decades, and he became a familiar face on television, beloved for his comedic timing and charm. He passed away at the age of 74 in the Motion Picture and Television Fund's retirement facility located in Woodland Hills, California. At the time of his death, he was survived by his two daughters, who remembered him fondly for both his professional achievements and his role as a father. Norman Fell's legacy continues through the memorable characters he portrayed and the impact he had on the television landscape.
