Kevin McNally
Biography
Kevin McNally, born on April 27, 1956, is an accomplished English actor renowned for his memorable performances in the Pirates of the Caribbean series (2003–2017). Raised in Birmingham, he attended Redhill and Mapledene Junior Schools followed by Central Grammar School for Boys. At just 16, he began his acting career at Birmingham Repertory Theatre, and a year later, he won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. His stage work includes notable roles in London's West End, such as Alan Bennett in 'The Lady in the Van' alongside Maggie Smith and Richard in 'Dead Funny' at the Savoy Theatre.
McNally's television career began in 1976 with his role in BBC's I, Claudius. He gained further recognition in series like Poldark and Doctor Who: The Twin Dilemma. He has portrayed diverse characters, including Frank Worsley in Shackleton and Harry Woolf in Life on Mars. McNally made his film debut in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) and became globally recognized as Joshamee Gibbs in the Pirates franchise.
