Susan Alexandra "Sigourney" Weaver, born on October 8, 1949, is a prominent American actress celebrated for her groundbreaking portrayal of action heroines within the science fiction genre. Weaver gained iconic status for her performance as Ellen Ripley in the Alien series, a role that not only earned her an Academy Award nomination in 1986 but also solidified Ripley's place as one of cinema's most influential female characters.
