Kent Taylor
Biography
Kent Taylor, born Louis William Weiss on May 11, 1907, in Nashua, Iowa, was a notable American actor who left a significant mark on the film and television industry. Over the course of his career, he appeared in more than 110 films, primarily B-movies during the 1930s and 1940s. Among his more recognizable works were performances in notable films such as I'm No Angel (1933), Death Takes a Holiday (1934), Payment on Demand (1951), and Track the Man Down (1955).
As the 1950s progressed and his film career waned, Taylor made a successful transition to television, landing the title role in the detective series Boston Blackie, where he starred in 58 episodes. He also took the lead in 39 episodes of ABC's The Rough Riders from 1958 to 1959. His television repertoire expanded to include appearances in popular shows like My Little Margie, Tales of Wells Fargo, Zorro, Bat Masterson, Peter Gunn, and Hawaiian Eye.
In the twilight of his career, Taylor ventured into the horror genre, starring in a series of slasher films, including Satan's Sadists, Blood of Ghastly Horror, I Spit on Your Corpse, and Hell's Bloody Devils. He passed away on April 11, 1987, and is laid to rest at the Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles, California.
