Mieko Harada
Biography
Mieko Harada (原田 美枝子, Harada Mieko), born on December 26, 1958, in Tokyo, Japan, is a distinguished actress known for her diverse performances across film and television. She embarked on her acting career in 1974 and has since built an impressive portfolio that includes a variety of roles in both motion pictures and dramas.
One of Harada's most iconic performances came when she portrayed Lady Kaede in Akira Kurosawa's acclaimed 1985 film, *Ran*. She further expanded her collaboration with Kurosawa in the 1990 film *Dreams*. Additionally, she lent her voice to the character Kaguya in the beloved 2002 anime film, *InuYasha the Movie: The Castle Beyond the Looking Glass*. Since 2007, Harada has continued to engage audiences through her work in television dramas.
Her talent has been recognized with multiple accolades, including the Best Actress award at the 21st Hochi Film Awards for *Village of Dreams* and again at the 23rd Hochi Film Awards for *Begging for Love*.
